Paul – BW$P

Paul by Justin Korn

I recently started the Black and White Dollar Portrait (BW$P) Project. The gist is, I will offer anyone who asks me for money $1 in exchange for their portrait. Every portrait I take will be converted and processed in black and white. This project is a spin off of Thomas Hawk’s $2 Portrait Project.

Meet Paul.

Paul was sitting at the entrance to the Montgomery Bart station asking for change as I walked by. I explained my current project to him and he agreed immediately. As I talked with Paul, he seemed nervous and jumpy. He didn’t make much eye contact with me and I got the impression that he didn’t seem to want to chat. So, I kept the conversation to a minimum, but did manage to find out that he has lived in San Francisco for 3 years, has a sister in Sacramento and used to work in maintenance.
